Great fine art shot, composition and lighting are nice.
Memorial of old times...

A very ordinary photo in fact. Nothing special. Just a record of what's there.

This series has become boring. Mostly out of shape old men with prone to heart attack fat bellies. They need a lot of excercise, for sure, and better diet. And I fail to see what can be called, "marital art" in any of this.

I return to appologize. Thinking of how I expresed myself I felt I should say I meant no insult to any persons involved in the series. I doubt I'd care to have serious hand to hand combat with any of them. They appear a group socializing and practicing a traditional exercise. I don't believe Wikipedia can be considered a reliable source of info so I admit I've not seen what it says of the martial art aspect.

May God be kind to you all.

the messenger, that is because you don't know the story behind this set. First, I highly doubt that you can easily beat any of these "fat" people in a wrestling or in a medieval style combat (with clubs or ball maces). Those funny things you see lined up in front of that man standing each way sometimes more than the most of the weights you can find around your gym!
This practice goes back to medieval times. Every practice or tool you see on the floor for practice is mimicking a real medieval weapon of war. Every move you see is a practice or training that most probably people used to do in those days that has passed on generation to generation from those times.

I think you'll enjoy them more with that info. For example a few photos back you see a man in the center twisting. During a famous war between the persians and the ottomans, I read an account that men used to hold ball maces in both hands and gallop with a horse in the middle of the enemy and jump from the horse and start twisting with the ball maces in their hands. If you see them in action, they twist so fast you can barely see their face. Any man close to them will be dead in an instant.

Yep, it's actually medieval martial arts at its purest.

One more thing. I don't know if this is true or not but I heard that after the invasion of either muslims or mongols, they outlawed all weapons and military training. That is why you can see that today all the practices happen well, underground!

Again I don't know how authentic this info is... sounds reasonable though.
