The green background of your site is making this picture look a little dull, it would have looked much better on black.

Well I chose this theme and background because I thought it’s kind of a neutral colour which works with most of the colour and black and white photos. It’s obviously not the best background for all the images but I wanted to keep the same style across the Blog.
Interesting point though, I will definitely test some other background colours including black, maybe you are right.

Actually when the internet was new, the default colour of an html doc was grey, that is if you don't mention a background colour, it will be rendered grey and the purpose was to ensure a decent amount of contrast with black type and images.
